Patsy & Paulie Enjoy the Murals at Laishley Park
One of the unique things about Punta Gorda that Patsy & Paulie absolutely adore is the collection of murals around downtown Punta Gorda. One of their favorite places to view a selection of these murals is at Laishley Park where their are two panels of murals entitled “Captivating Charlotte County.”
Throughout these murals adorning the walls at Laishley Municipal Marina one can spot an array of wildlife. “Below the water line you will find snook hiding in the mangroves, crabs on the grassy bottom, turtles, dolphins, and a manatee. Above the water line you will find bird life represented by seagulls, a Sandhill Crane and Roseate Spoonbills. If you look closely maybe you can find the alligators that the artist cleverly hid in the clouds.”
The murals at Laishley Park are just the beginning of the art that covers the walls of building throughout downtown Punta Gorda. There are 24 Punta Gorda murals in total ranging from “Movie Memories” to “Postcards in Time.” For a complete list of the murals and a map visit the Punta Gorda Historic Mural Society’s website.
