Patsy and Paulie Visit the Ringling Museum of Art

Prestigious Art Museum in Sarasota, Florida, Just Over an Hour Drive from Punta Gorda!

The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, Florida is home to a multitude of historic, epic paintings by the Masters, sculptures, and other forms of ancient and fine art. The works by the Baroque masters and ancient Cyprus artifacts were collected by John Ringling, the circus tycoon, and his wife Mable, at auctions and on trips to Europe over the years. The grounds of the Ringling estate are meticulously maintained and feature a bronze cast of the original Michelangelo’s David in Florence, Italy. Patsy and Paulie were awestruck by the beauty of the museum, even after only seeing the 21 galleries in the Museum of Art. Entry to the Ringling Museum of Art’s 21 galleries and current special exhibits is free on Mondays to the general public! General admission tickets are available 7 days a week, with discounted admission available for children aged 6-17, seniors 65+, students 18+ with ID, Florida teachers with ID, active US military, and free admission for children under the age of 6 and members. The museum also hosts special events weekly, including Art After 5 on Thursday evenings, and periodic movie screenings, such as tonight’s Art and a Movie event, a showing of the 1936 film Sisters of the Gion and access to one of the current special exhibits at the museum, the Deco Japan.

The Ringling Museum of Art is a great daytrip from Punta Gorda, Florida. When Patsy and Paulie visited this past Monday, they were informed by a helpful tour guide that a group from Spain and also a family from Germany had come in just before them! Apparently, there are quite a few people that know about the variety of things to do in Southwest Florida. Our feathered friends hope to continue to explore all the things to do in Punta Gorda and the surrounding area, Southwest Florida. Check back soon to see more of Patsy and Paulie’s adventures!
