Punta Gorda Events for Halloween | Festive Events for the Whole Family

Do you have your costume picked out yet? There are some truly great activities planned for Halloween this year in Punta Gorda. You can find everything from family-fun hayrides to scary haunted houses and even a Boo Ball!

Haunting on the Harbor | Halloween Festival & Haunted House

On October 30th and 31st from 3 – 11 pm, Laishley Park in Punta Gorda will be transformed into Haunting on the Harbor – a Halloween Festival that will include something for everyone.  This Punta Gorda event will include the largest haunted house in Charlotte County at 4800 sq. ft. with thrills and chills for all. Also featured at the Haunting on the Harbor are a kids play area and bounce house for FREE fun for the little ones. You can also look forward to festive hayrides and carnival games! If you are looking for a cute autumn photo opportunity there will be pumpkin patch photos available which will be sure to lead to some adorable family photos.

If you have a one of a kind costume you will want to enter the costume contests at Haunting on the Harbor for adults, kids and pets! Check out the costume contest schedule and great prizes listed so you can plan your day and possibly come out a winner. And if you don’t have a costume or maybe just want to add some finishing touches, there will be on-site face painting by Joyce Wollff from 4-9 pm on both days.

To complete this Punta Gorda event there will be live music by The Boogiemen from 6 – 10 pm both days. While enjoying the music and other activities, you can also enjoy food and beverages available from Smuggler’s, Inc. and an ice cream tent by Harborwalk Scoops & Bites.

2010 Charlotte County Boo Ball


The fourth annual Halloween Boo Ball, to benefit the American Red Cross of Charlotte County, is October 29 at 7 p.m. Tickets to this costume ball and Punta Gorda event include a buffet dinner as well as beer and wine. The spooky carnival atmosphere will include a professional DJ to keep you dancing. You can also participate in a costume contest as well as both live and silent auctions.

Historic Ghost Tour of Punta Gorda

Starting October 1st, every night is Halloween, with Charlotte County’s Original Historic Ghost Tours of Punta Gorda departing nightly from the gazebo at Gilchrist Park! “Florida’s infamous haunts come back to life in this spellbinding lantern guided walking tour through Punta Gorda.” There are other historic tours available making this an exciting year round Punta Gorda event.

Trick-or-Treating in Historic Punta Gorda

Historic Punta Gorda is well known as the place to be on Halloween. Many of the homes are elaborately decorated creating a festive Halloween community that is always fun to walk through. There are also many interesting and often creative costumes to see as trick-or-treaters flock to the area for this Punta Gorda event.
